Famous British athlete Fatima Whitbread was one of the very first sport personalities to visit our island for training back in 1983, just before the World Championship. The javelin with which she broke the world record is in our possession, given to us by Fatima herself, as a thank you gift for looking after her here on the island, in 1983 and 1984.
